Arbitrary Travels

Peas posted a great entry on travels to not so interesting destinations. Has really got me thinking about some of the arb places I've been. One that should be given a miss, unless you're a Pommie history buff, is Gibraltar. Sounds exotic, but it is really just an ugly rock with a few English pubs, drunk ex-pats and a pile of scabby monkeys.
Another place not to bother with, unless you're a Pommie Lager Lout / Football Hooligan or are from Essex, is Magaluf on Mallorca. The Belerics (Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza) are otherwise an incredible group of islands with much beauty and steeped in history. Other than this blemish, which is a favoured holiday destination for the aforementioned Poms. Even Ibiza is cool compared to this spot.
As far as arb destination which you should definately try to visit, I reckon Savannah Georgia is one of my favourites. Read the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, or see the film version before going. It is an incredible look into this small town, and the reality is that the town is just like the descriptions. Awesome!

Anyway, Spud is doing great. The little bugger is kicking like Dan Carter, scrumming like Os du Randt and wriggling around like Luke Watson. I wonder if he'll actually turn into a rugby player! I would prefer golf as its more lucrative for the folks, but if i has to be rugby, then so be it! No pressure young man! :)
