Welcome to 2007! I cannot believe that 2006 is actually over. It was just getting started... I have been really crap at posting over the past month, this is due to December just being to damn busy. We had umpteen staff and client Xmas parties and absolutely ridiculous amounts of work to get through.
It would seem that everyone wakes up in the last few days of December and realises they haven't organised some posters/calendars/New Years Adverts etc And then want us to drop everything to get them out. Crazy man, and of course, we are the only suppliers open through the Christmas Drag - those 3 days between Xmas and New Year. Sheesh, was I busy.
We went for a 26 week scan, which was really cool. Spud is growing extremely fast now and in the three weeks between our last feotal assessment and the latest scan, he went from 656g to 1216g. Thats nearly double in size! It's no wonder C's stomach is looking so big. She really looks pregnant now and everyone is commenting on just how gorgeous she looks. She's carrying forward and quite high up, which makes for a very hot preggie mom!! The only weight she seems to have put on is all baby related, so she hardly even looks pregnant from behind. Different to one of our mate's who's wife has apparently put on 19kgs already! That is an awful lot of weight... I hope she can lose it, cos she was a pretty little thing before this!
Christmas was good fun. Spent Eve with C's family, which is alwasy entertaining if not somewhat tiresome. There is this competition for who can say the most outrageous thing, which can be funny... lots of lovely wines were floating around, Meerlust Rubicon 1999 being the best. It really is amazing stuff.
Spent Christmas day with my family which was fantastic. Very relaxed fish braai. spent lots of time with lil' G which was awesome. Its amazing how much she has grown and grown up.
Boxing day was also fantastic, we went out to Le Franschoek Hotel's buffet restaurant called Le Verger. 5 different stations with Salads, Curry, Stir Fry, Braai/Grill, Pizza and dessert! Awesome food, amazing setting, fantastic fun. Definately worth a visit, and relatively reasonably priced, altho the wine list is a little steep.
The company yacht was launched a few weeks ago, and we were lucky enough to be able to go out for a suneset cruise to Clifton. Really amazing altho C got really sea sick. Damn Spud causing problems with his mom!! That meant that we had to forgo the invite to go out on the yacht for a New Years eve party. I did get to take it out for a really nice sail in the afternoon tho. Instead we went out to Jakes at Steenberg for their New Years Eve bash. It was fun, altho the service was crap and the cocktails and bubbles they gave us were terrible. The DJ and half the guests must have come in from the Nothern Suburbs... the DJ even played Leeuloop without being begged to!!! Anyway, we had some fun and got really trashed. Then went through to the La Colombe Staff Party which we did last year as well. What a massive jol that is. Everyone is pretty tonked and partying up a storm. DJ playing cool music, lots of bubbles (and decent stuff this time). Best mate G was there with his new chick. Had to ask him if she was legal... and if yes, when she ws leaving!!! Poor b@stard always chooses them too young and just before they leave for overseas...
Anyway, back at work, slaving away.
Here's to a fantastic 2007. It is definately going to bring about all sorts of wonderful new challenges, Spud being the most exciting one! We have really bonded with this little guy, and he isn't even half grown. 3 months is not a long time, and then we will finally get to meet him. He has been the cause of such joy already, one can only wonder how much more we can all take! I reckon alot more...
Happy New Year!
